2019 PRE-CONFERENCE INFORMATION

REGISTER EARLY AND SAVE!

Complete and return the registration form by February 12, 2019 and save $25 for the Spring Academy and $50 for the annual conference.  Conference attendance earns 3 CMC “Experience” or 3 MMC “Professional Contributions” points. Pre-registration ensures that meals are ordered for you and that conference materials are ready. Shimmy on over to www.wmcaclerks.org  to register now!  Refunds must be requested no later than February 12 and registration closes February 25, 2019.

LODGING RESERVATIONS

Do the hustle and make your reservations now!  Rooms are blocked until Monday, February 18, 2019 at $94/night for single/double run of the house, $134/night for single/double for water view rooms and $10 resort fee/night on all rooms. Call 360-318-2000 Semiahmoo Resort or online & mention you’re with WMCA. Room cancellations must be made 5 days in advance of arrival date.


SPRING ACADEMY AND

CONFERENCE SESSIONS

Get your back up off the wall and register soon for the Spring Academy on Tuesday, March 12 and learn Organizing and Productivity Strategies for the Workplace. By completing this IIMC-sanctioned 6-hour class, you will earn 3 CMC or 3 MMC “Education” points after submitting a written assessment. Our conference will feature keynote speaker Brenda Viola on Going the Extra Mile When You’re Running on Empty. The draft conference schedule is here or at the link provided below.


Breakfast is on your own and lunch is included in the registration fee of $125 for the Academy. Please note on the registration form if you have medically necessary dietary needs.


PRESIDENT’S RECEPTION

Tuesday night features a welcome reception with appetizers hosted by WMCA President Virginia Olsen.

CONFERENCE MEALS

Meals are included in the full conference registration fee. This year we will provide the following meals:


Wednesday: breakfast, lunch and dinner

Thursday: breakfast, lunch and dinner

Friday: breakfast is on your own


Please indicate on the registration form if you have medically necessary dietary needs.  Guest(s) may join you for conference meals but must be ordered in advance. Please select those meals under “Guest Registration” on the registration form & be sure to include your “Mony Mony” payment.


AUCTION NIGHT & RAFFLES

Included in Wednesday night’s dinner festivities, we’ll have an onsite event with fundraising activities including a live auction and some fun dance lessons taught by our expert WMCA members to prepare you for our post banquet night boogie.  Please bust a move to your local store and pick up an auction item to donate and help replenish WMCA’s scholarship fund!  You can’t beat it!


CONFERENCE ATTIRE & BANQUET INFO

Conference & event attire is business casual.  The annual banquet theme (Thursday night) is “You’re a Shining Star.” You are encouraged to wear shimmery, sparkling attire (semi-formal optional) and dance the night away with DJ Scott Passey, City Clerk of the City of Edmonds after the banquet.  Don’t sit out this epic dance party!


SCHOLARSHIP RAFFLES

We have $1 raffle tickets available for $100 cash or a gift basket donated by our regional clerks associations. All proceeds from the raffles & auction items are used for scholarships to attend the WMCA and IIMC annual conferences, the Northwest Clerks Institute & Master Academy trainings. Get down on it and buy a few tickets and support our clerks’ professional development!
