In memory of Karen Kuznek-Reese, and to raise breast cancer awareness, the WMCA Fundraising Committee invites you to register for the second WMCA PINK WALK!  October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and the perfect time to get out for some exercise and maybe even to drop a few pounds before the holidays.  We can come together in Karen's honor and the spirit that is WMCA and walk to raise scholarship funds and awareness around breast cancer.

Karen served the City of Sequim as City Clerk from 1999 until November 2019, when she lost her courageous fight with breast cancer at the age of 60.  Karen was an active member and supporter of WMCA, serving on the Executive Committee from 2004-2011 and two terms as WMCA President from October 2009 until March 2011.  Education was important to Karen and she recognized the valuable role that the WMCA scholarship fund plays in ensuring that all clerks have access to education.

BREAST CANCER AWARENESS RESOURCES:

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, an annual campaign to raise awareness of this complex disease. Since 1985, individuals, businesses, and communities have come together every October to show their support for the many people affected by breast cancer. Breast Cancer Awareness Month can be a time to reflect, give back, or even celebrate.

This month as we participate in the 2nd WMCA Pink Walk, WMCA wants you to know that knowledge and early detection saves lives.
